Week 2
My Article
In this article it talks about how Trump is going to deal with North Korea and what actions he could take. In the article it states, "He (Trump) may be forced to operate within the narrow constraints of his predecessors." Obama stated the best way to deal with North Korea is to use a policy of "strategic patience." Meaning that he would strengthen sanctions and ultimately wait for North Korea to halt its Nuclear Program. It then goes on to say that the Trump administration has given North Korea some leeway and that, "his failure to focus on a North Korea policy has created a small space for progress on what the Obama administration considered to be the greatest threat to US security." Although Trump "has, at times, looked like a wrecking ball to the international order.", "North Korea appears to be taking a rational approach to Trump and waiting to see what happens in Washington." Trump is being guided carefully because if anything were to cause war with North Korea, we would have a big nuclear mess.

This relates to Ap Government because it talks about foreign policy and although we haven't learned about this yet I'm sure we are going to. We talk about how Trump is going to deal with Trump and we watched a segment on CNN 10 about the recent missile tests in Pyongyong, North Korea.

I feel like Trump is doing the right thing so far. I think he should give North Korea some space because if they feel that we are closing in on their personal space then they could do something very irrational and that would not be good. But If we give North Korea too much space then who knows what they could be up too. We need to be able to know what they are doing and be ready for anything that could happen. If they were too launch a nuclear missile towards the US we should know about it before it even takes off. We need to treat North Korea very carefully because anything that we do or they do could spark nuclear war.

Week 1:
My Article
In this article it talks about Donald Trump's campaign and how surprising and unpredictable it was. During Trumps campaign he consistently talks about how the system was rigged and that media was biased towards Hillary Clinton. In the article it shows that most Republicans believe that the election is rigged and that Hillary Clinton was somehow cheating the system. However most democrats think that the system was fair and just. That nothing was biased for Hillary Clinton. Since Trump was very connected with his social media, he could speak to all of his followers at once and talk to them about the unjust voting system and biased news. As it says in the article, "Rather than accepting the results of a rigged campaign or letting their loss of faith in the political system keep them home, Trump’s supporters (we suspect especially in rural communities) turned out to express their anger by voting against the establishment." The article then goes on to say that continuously complaining about the fraudulent system was more strategic and effective for Trump than most people originally thought.
This relates to our Ap Gov class because it talks about Voter participation and that when Trump's supporters believed that the system was fraudulent they continued to vote. Since most of Trump's supporters were from more rural cities they were more inclined to have most of the same opinions on subjects and this could be why more people from rural cities voted for Trump.
Personally I feel that during the campaign, the system wasn't rigged but I think it would be very easy for someone to think so. The only reason that the media was so targeted on Trump because he was always saying or doing something stupid. Since his supporters continued to think it was ok for him to say stupid things and get in the news a lot Trump decided to make them all think that he wasn't on the news for doing something wrong but because it was "biased." Whether or not the news was biased or not I think someone that could be the president of the United States should be able to control what he says on tv.
